What does Labor Day mean to you? Enoch Office Employees weigh in

Labor DayLabor Day falls on the first Monday in September, which just happens to be next week. Children and adults everywhere are rejoicing. Why? Labor Day is a national holiday, so schools and most businesses are closed and Americans love nothing more than a long weekend. Some families will head to the beach; others will go camping, while still others will use this weekend to do some work around the house.

While you are enjoying this long weekend, take a few minutes to stop and think about the REAL meaning of Labor Day. This holiday is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers, according to the United States Department of Labor. Labor Day is a yearly tribute to the contributions American workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
